IFPRI and Welthungerhilfe have been working closely since 2006 in developing and publishing the Global Hunger Index (GHI) Report. The award-winning GHI Report is an annual publication designed to comprehensively measure and track hunger globally. It highlights successes and failures in hunger reduction, and provides insights into the drivers of hunger. Further, the GHI combines undernourishment, child wasting, child stunting, and child mortality indicators to provide a comprehensive account of the multidimensional nature of hunger. In 2015, IFPRI, Welthungerhilfe and Concern International released the 10th GHI Report.
Barbel Dieckman, President of Deutsche Welthungerhilfe, highlighted the impact of the GHI Report in reducing hunger and undernutrition at IFPRI's 40th Anniversary celebration in November 2015.
“The Index has repeatedly influenced the work of Welthungerhilfe in very concrete ways. The report regularly offers an important orientation for Welthungerhilfe’s country portfolio and strategic program planning. And, there are always discussions in our partner countries about this index.”
