For 30 years, IFPRI engaged with the government of Pakistan on public policies and investments towards a more productive and innovative agricultural sector and rural economy. More recently, prompted by a request for technical support from the Pakistani government’s Planning Commission, IFPRI launched the Pakistan Strategy Support Program (PSSP) in 2011, a country-led and country-wide policy analysis and capacity strengthening program, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). IFPRI’s cutting-edge research and policy work supports the government of Pakistan as it strives to ensure food and nutrition security, and encourage a thriving rural economy.
