The United States continues to prioritize reducing hunger around the world. At the 2015 United Nations Summit, President Barack Obama of the United States, presented a 15-year development agenda that includes a blueprint to eliminate poverty and hunger. For decades, IFPRI has partnered with the United States government through USAID to find innovative solutions to poverty and hunger. IFPRI contributes to USAID’ work in gender and agriculture, nutrition security for women and children, country development strategies designed to identify the main drivers of economic growth and agricultural transformation, and biosafety for seed systems.
